Dal Langston

Dal Langston has been the assistant coach for FTCC volleyball since the program’s inaugural season in 2018.

Langston, who still resides in his native Sanford, N.C., started coaching volleyball more than 15 years ago when the middle of his three daughters needed a travel team coach. Since then, he has coached with Brick City Volleyball, L2 Volleyball and spent three seasons coaching the Chatham Central High School team.

His travel teams have won a variety of tournaments, including a National Qualifier in 2014, and qualified for the Girls Junior Nationals twice. Under Langston, Chatham Central, which had gone nearly 20 years without a conference title, won two conference championships and a conference tournament championship. Langston was named conference Coach of the Year twice.

Langston, who earned his bachelor’s degree from East Carolina, is CAP II certified through USA Volleyball.

Langston and his wife, Cara, have three grown daughters.
