Women’s Basketball opened their season last night against Bryant & Stratton for a conference game. The Trojans fall short to the Bobcats by 10 points 47-57.
FTCC vs. Bryant & Stratton (L, 47-57)
The Trojans started off slow scoring 11 points in the first half. A different teamed showed up on the court after halftime, outscoring the Bobcats 36 to 23 in the second half of the game limiting the them to only 3 points in the third quarter.
Danielle Jackson (Raleigh, NC) had her first double double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also went 2-2 from the free throw line. Zuri Dunlap (Memphis, TN) had 12 points, 6 steals, 1 block and went 1-1 from the free throw line. Shay Ward (Smithfield, NC) went 2-2 for free throws with 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Luisa Monsalve (Colombia) had 5 steals and Morgan Brady (Fayetteville, NC) contributed 10 points.
The Trojans shot 70% from the free throw line in their first outing of the season.
