Women’s Basketball hosted the Yetis of Cleveland Community College on Thursday, February 22. 

The Trojans led after the first quarter by only one point over the Yetis. Once the second quarter started, they found their groove and scored 30 points compared to Cleveland’s eight. 

After halftime, the Trojans scored 32 more points to secure the win 76-52 over the Yetis of Cleveland Community College. 

Nyla Mitchell (Lumberton, NC) was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 22 points, followed by Tara Joyner (Clinton, NC) with 19.

The Trojans are now 11-14, which is the most wins in program history for Women’s Basketball at FTCC, with all 11 wins being conference wins. 

Women’s basketball has one more regular season game Wednesday, February 28 at Brunswick Community College. The Trojans are hoping to secure a spot in the First Round of the Region 10 conference tournament, which begins Monday, March 4.
