FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Tech volleyball team rebounded from a bumpy start Tuesday to record a 3-1 win over visiting Lenoir CC.

The Trojans improved to 3-0 on the year and 2-0 in the Division II Region 10 East, where they remain one of three teams without a conference loss.

FTCC dropped the first set 25-22 before recovering to win out the match in sets of 25-9, 25-20 and 25-14.

The Trojans shot out to a 17-12 lead in the opening set before the Lancers (5-2, 0-1) hit a scoring stretch on the strength of their quick middle players.

FTCC answered, moving play to the outside and dodging Lenoir’s middle defense in the following sets to grab the win.

The Trojans’ passing skill was on display throughout, with sophomore libero Kristen Woods leading the way with 16 digs.

Alyssa Wrench added 13 digs, while Lauren Adams (11), Taylor Melvin (10) and Jacqueline Woosley (10) each posted double-digit digs.

Wrench led the Trojans with 13 kills. Woosley tallied 42 assists.

The Trojans continue their home stretch Thursday night against Division III opponent Patrick Henry CC. Match time is 6:30 p.m.
