FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech volleyball topped visiting Louisburg 3-0 on Tuesday, recording its ninth straight win.

The Trojans improve to 17-2 overall on the season and 9-2 in the Region 10 Division II East, where they’ve moved into second place behind leader Cape Fear CC (16-3, 11-1).

The Trojans have a half-game lead over third-place Richard Bland (12-6, 8-2), which along with Cape Fear, has handed FTCC its only losses of the season.

The win leads FTCC into a key stretch in the schedule. After Thursday’s match at home against Wake Tech, the Trojans return to the road for a three-game stint that includes matches against Richard Bland and Cape Fear.

The Trojans travel to Richard Bland on Saturday for a tri-match against the Statesmen and non-conference opponent Montgomery College.

The Trojans then head to Wilmington on Oct. 19 to face Cape Fear CC before returning home for the regular-season finale against West foe USC Union on Oct. 22.

FTCC beat the Hurricanes by set scores of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-18, committing just three errors on attack in the first two sets.

Sophomore Lauren Adams recorded 10 kills and 10 digs. Setter Jacqueline Woosley also had 10 digs and tallied 24 assists. Adams and Taylor Melvin each served three aces.
