FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech volleyball cruised past visiting USC Union on Friday to finish the regular season with a 20-4 overall record and a 10-4 mark in the Region 10 Division II East.

The Trojans secured the No. 3 seed out of the East for the Region 10 DII Tournament, which begins Monday. The team will travel to West No. 2 seed Catawba Valley (16-15, 10-2) on Monday at 6 p.m. to start the postseason.

This will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams, as a scheduled match in September was cancelled.

The Trojans recognized seven sophomores Friday, honoring Lauren Adams, Nytiara Brothers, Sonjai Guiles, Taylor Melvin, Kristen Woods, Jacqueline Woosley and Alyssa Wrench before the start of their final regular-season match.

FTCC handled the Bantams with little fanfare, winning in sets of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-13.

Sophomore outside hitter Alyssa Wrench led the way for the Trojans, recording 16 kills, six aces, five digs and a solo block.

Sophomore libero Kristen Woods had a team -high 10 digs. Setter Jacqueline Woosley had 32 assists, and freshman Morgan Brady had two solo blocks.
