Volleyball defeats Lenoir Community College 3-0 to improve to 5-2 in conference play. This keeps the Trojan in the #3 spot for Region 10 Division II East volleyball standings. 

FTCC vs. Lenoir CC (W, 3-0)

Set one started out with kills from Hannah Spexarth (Fayetteville, NC) and Sydney Conklin (Fayetteville, NC) to pull the Trojans ahead of the Lancers 4-2. Kailey Ann Strickland (Fayetteville, NC), who started for injured Olivia Johnson (Wilmington, NC), went back to serve with two service aces for the Trojans. Following these aces, the Trojans pulled ahead 12-7 by kills from Spexarth and Jacqueline Woosley (Fayetteville, NC) and a service ace from Morgan Brady (Fayetteville, NC). Lenoir made a run to get themselves back in the game making it 12-11. The energy came back to the Trojan side with a big block by Eternitie Denton (Fayetteville, NC) and Sonjai Guiles (Georgetown, SC). The Trojans had more kills by Conklin, Woosley, Brady and Rion Caldwell (Florence, SC) to gain a 24-16 lead over the Lancers. Set one ended on a service error by Lenoir. 

The second set started out neck and neck and stayed that way until the end. Spexarth started with two service aces and a kill from Brady tied the set at 6-6. A block by Conklin tied the set again at 7-7. The Trojans pulled ahead with kills by Brady, a block from Guiles and kills by Denton to give them their biggest lead of the game 14-11. The Lancers got the ball back but the Trojans made another run with more kills from Brady, Conklin and Spexarth. 

The third set started out the same as the second. A kill from Spexarth tied the game at 2, Denton tied it at 3, a service error by Lenoir made it 4-4 and a kill from Spexarth tied it at 5. The Trojans then start to pull ahead and run with it until the end of set three. They had kills from Brady, Woosely, Spexarth, Guiles and Denton. Strickland and Aliyah Brown (Fayetteville, NC) racked up the digs for the Trojans while Strickland and Woosley added more service aces. The game ended on a kill from Denton.

The Trojans were lead on offense by Spexarth and Brady. Woosley had 25 assists and seven kills. Defense was lead by Strickland and Brown. Guiles and Denton each had two blocks. 

Volleyball plays Monday, October 10 at 6pm against Pitt Community College. It will be a DIG PINK game so come out and wear your PINK!

Volleyball also plays at home Thursday, October 13 at 6pm against #14 Cape Fear Community College. This will be Parks and Rec Youth Night so come out, wear your JERSEYS, and pack the gym as the Trojans take on the ranked Sea Devils!
