FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech softball swept its doubleheader against Bryant & Stratton at Kiwanis Recreation Center on Saturday, taking its first home victories of the season.

The Trojans won the first game 12-3 in five innings before grabbing a 8-6 win in Game 2.

Angel Pearsall put the exclamation on the day for the Trojans, hitting a three-run home run in the sixth inning of the second game to give FTCC a 7-6 lead. Pearsall was 4-for-4 in the game.

It was the second comeback victory of the day for the Trojans, who trailed 3-0 early in both contests.

In Game 1, the Trojans broke out for an 11-run third inning to take a 11-3 lead, taking advantage of three walks and a pair of errors from Bryant & Stratton in the frame.

The inning included a two-run home run from shortstop Chloe’ Radford and an RBI double from outfielder Chelsey Wilkes.

The Trojans finished off the weekend by splitting a doubleheader at Paul D. Camp on Sunday. FTCC dropped the first game 19-9 but rebounded to win Game 2 11-10.

FTCC remains in fourth place in the West Division standings in Region 10 Division II. With the top four finishers earning a spot in the Region 10 Tournament, the situation sets up a key meeting for the Trojans with third-place Southeastern CC on the road Tuesday.
