FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech’s Nov. 13 home-opener featured double-digit scoring from a trio of Trojans, but strong inside play from conference opponent Wake Tech ultimately spoiled the night, ending in a 83-71 FTCC loss.

Sophomore forward DaJuan Hill led the Trojans in scoring and rebounds, recording 14 points and tallying nine rebounds. All of Hill’s points from the floor came from deep range as he went 4-for-6 on 3-point attempts.

Guards Collin Lewis and George Jones Jr. each added 12 points.

The Trojans trailed by 10 points, at 36-26, at halftime and slipped behind by as many as 26 points, trailing the Eagles 71-52 with under seven minutes to play.

The Trojans clawed their way back, almost chasing down Wake Tech on a spurt of late scoring. FTCC cut Wake’s lead to single digits, trailing 78-69 with 48.9 left to play. But the Trojans’ efforts stalled in the final seconds, leaving the Eagles with the victory.

This is the Trojans’ only home game in the first 10 games this season. They’ll return to Reid Ross Classical Dec. 8 to host Bryant & Stratton at 5 p.m.
