For the first time in program history, Fayetteville Tech received votes for the NJCAA Division II men’s basketball poll, released Monday, March 1.
The recognition comes on the heels of a banner week for the Trojans (5-1), who knocked off a pair of Top 20 teams in their last two outings.
The Trojans upset Catawba Valley CC, then ranked No. 18, on Feb. 20 and top-ranked Davidson-Davie CC on Feb. 24, stretching their winning streak to four games.
The wins propelled the Trojans into second place in the Region 10 Division II standings behind Davidson-Davie CC.
FTCC, which is playing a conference-only schedule this season, will be back in action March 8 for a road game at Central Carolina. The Trojans took a 83-80 win in the pair’s first meeting on Feb. 10.
