Men’s Basketball headed to Louisburg, NC on Thursday, February 29 to play the Hurricanes of Louisburg College in their last regular season game. With this win, the Trojans end their season 19-11 and secure the #6 seed going into the Region 10 Conference Tournament.
FTCC vs. Louisburg College (78-75, Win)
The first 20 minutes was an even match up between the Trojans and the Hurricanes with each team scoring 39 points going into halftime. The Trojans pulled ahead in the second half scoring three more points than Louisburg to secure the win.
Gerren Jones (Swansboro, NC) was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 18 points, adding to his already school record. Ke Edwards (Conover, NC) had eight rebounds for the Trojans, while Te’Jon McDaniel-McCormick (Salina, KS) added seven. Rayvon Moncrieft (Ayden, NC) came in hot off the bench scoring 10 of the Trojans 78 points.
Men’s Basketball is hosting the First Round of the Region 10 Conference Tournament on Monday, March 4 at 7:30pm following the Women’s game at Reid Ross Classical School- 3200 Ramsey Street. The Trojans will face Johnston Community College. The winner will move onto the Quarterfinals Thursday, March 7 in Wilmington, NC at Cape Fear Community College.
