LOUISBURG, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech’s second game of the season marked a breakout night for freshmen Collin Lewis and Jawon Eddie, though the night ended in a 98-83 Trojan loss.

The Trojans (0-2) faced Division I Brunswick CC at Louisburg College in the Hurricanes’ Roger Taylor Classic.

Lewis, a 6-0 guard, and Eddie, a 6-9 post player, each scored 23 points. Eddie pulled down 15 rebounds to notch his first collegiate double-double and the first double-double of the season for the Trojans.

Eddie went 10-for-12 from the floor, working close to the basket, while Lewis shined at the perimeter, going 5-for-8 from behind the 3-point line.

Despite an outstanding night from Lewis and Eddie, the Trojans struggled with turnovers, allowing Brunswick to build up a 13-point lead by halftime.

The Trojans welcome Wake Tech on Nov. 13 for the team’s home opener. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Reid Ross Classical.
