FTCC’s Communication Department invites you to be inspired by our top public speaking students at the FayTech Talks 2026 speech competition on Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m.
Five years ago, the Communication Department began a showcase competition featuring some of the best high school public speakers around Cumberland County area: FayTech Talks. What began as a small departmental initiative has grown into a signature annual event that highlights student excellence in public speaking across this area.
Today, this community-wide competition allows high school students enrolled in FTCC public speaking courses to compete against hundreds of their peers for prestige and prizes. The top five speakers will compete in FTCC’s fifth annual competition, held Thursday, April 30th at 6 p.m. in FTCC’s Cape Fear Valley School of Health Sciences (HTC) Room 111.
Over the past five years, our competition has featured judges from Fayetteville State University, Methodist University, FTCC, The Fayetteville Observer, Womack Army Medical Center, Habitat for Humanity, and other civic agencies and organizations.
