Baseball 2020

Fayetteville Tech baseball enters the spring season with a 40-player roster, built to deepen the team’s pitching options and shore up the defense.

A coaching change late in the offseason put the pressure on the Trojans in 2019, the program’s inaugural season. The team posted a five-win campaign and looked to build for the future.

This season, the Trojans bring back eight players from last year’s squad, forming a core group of reliable returners.

Returning coach Billy Gaskins and his staff made it an offseason goal to deepen the Trojans’ bullpen with dependable arms. They’ve fleshed out the roster to include 21 potential pitchers — 15 right-handers and 6 left-handers. Right-handers Tyler Dove and Bruce Elmore return from last season, as does lefty Tristan Arenivas.
