Where Creativity Meets Craft
FTCC’s Graphic Design program has been producing job-ready design professionals for more than 40 years. Our graduates don’t just know the software — they understand visual communication strategy, production workflow, and what it takes to deliver professional work across every medium. At this year’s Graduate Showcase, you’ll see that firsthand.
What They’re Showcasing
Each graduating student presents an individual portfolio display featuring printed design pieces, physical mockups, brand identity systems, and marketing collateral. Students bring portfolio booklets, business cards, and QR codes linking to their digital portfolios — because they arrived at this event ready to make a professional impression.
Work on display includes:
- Brand development and identity systems
- Print and digital advertising campaigns
- Professional illustration and custom graphics
- Marketing collateral and promotional materials
- Product packaging and environmental design
- Book covers and publication design
- Apparel graphics
- Social media graphics and content

Skills & Tools
FTCC Graphic Design students are trained in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign — and the majority of graduates earn industry certifications in all three before finishing the program. But technical proficiency is only part of the picture. Students are trained to work with efficient, professional workflows, apply non-destructive editing techniques, and deliver production-ready files in the appropriate formats for any deliverable. They graduate understanding not just how to use the tools, but how to use them the way the industry expects.
Employers: You’ll have direct one-on-one time with each student at their individual table. Evaluate portfolios, ask questions, and identify candidates who can step into a professional environment and produce. These graduates understand briefs, meet deadlines, and deliver files that are ready to use.
Considering the program? Talk to graduating students about their experience — what challenged them, what they’re most proud of, and where they’re headed next. The work on these tables is what two years of focused training looks like.
About the Program
