Built From Scratch. Ready to Deploy.
FTCC’s Computer Programming & Development graduates don’t just write code — they collaborate in teams, manage projects using Agile and Scrum methodology, version control with GitHub, and integrate AI and databases into functional, real-world applications. The program’s primary emphasis is hands-on training that develops the ability to solve business problems through programming — and to adapt as systems and technologies evolve. At this year’s Graduate Showcase, you won’t just hear about what these students can do. You’ll see it running.
What They’re Showcasing
CP&D students present their work at laptop stations where attendees can interact directly with the software they built. Four capstone teams each developed a distinct software application:
- Financial Tracker — a personal finance management application
- Biometrics Tracker — a health and biometric data monitoring tool
- Recommendation Engine — an AI-integrated content recommendation system
- Task Manager — a productivity and project management application
Additionally, students from CSC-221 Advanced Python Programming will be demonstrating a degree audit tool they developed — a functional application that helps students identify which degrees or certificates they’ve completed based on their coursework. Students will be rotating through this table throughout the evening.

Skills & Tools
- Python and Java
- Database integration
- AI implementation
- GitHub version control
- Scrum and Agile development methodology
- Cross-platform application development
- Business operations and systems analysis
Employers: Each capstone table is staffed by the student team that built the application — so you’re talking directly to the developers. These students have worked in team environments, managed sprints, used version control, and delivered a finished product. Whether you’re hiring software developers, database specialists, systems technicians, programmer analysts, or technical problem solvers, this is a direct and efficient way to evaluate real candidates doing real work. CP&D graduates are prepared for positions in business, industry, and government organizations.
Considering the program? Come interact with the applications students built and talk to the teams behind them. These are real, functional tools — not class projects collecting dust. Ask the students what languages they used, how they divided the work, and what they’d build next.
About the Program
FTCC’s Computer Programming & Development curriculum prepares individuals for employment as computer programmers and related positions through study and application in computer concepts, logic, programming procedures, languages, generators, operating systems, networking, data management, and business operations. The primary emphasis is hands-on training that develops the ability to adapt as systems evolve.
Graduates qualify for employment as programmers, software developers, database specialists, systems technicians, programmer analysts, information systems managers, and related positions across business, industry, and government.
