Thank you for your interest in FTCC’s
Trojan Jump Start Program (TJSP)!

The Trojan Jump Start program is a summer bridge enrichment opportunity that offers tuition-free courses. Students will take a college success course and either Math or English course with a developmental co-requisite class to ensure students are receiving the needed academic support. Participants will work closely with a Success Coach throughout the program. Books and course materials will be provided at no charge. Students will each receive a laptop for use during the program, and students who complete all coursework will keep it.

Who is eligible?

The TJSP is designed for current high school seniors who have a GPA between 2.2 and 3.0 and are scheduled to graduate in spring 2024. Students may not be eligible for Financial Aid, VA, or Military benefits during the summer term only.

What is the time commitment?

Students should be available for coursework and activities Monday-Friday beginning June 10, 2024, through July 23, 2024, from 8:45 a.m. until noon. A complete schedule will be provided to selected applicants. While transportation options will be available for any off-campus activities, students must provide their own transportation to and from the main FTCC campus each day. The first 50 qualified applications will be accepted.

How do I apply?

The application process consists of these steps:

STEP 1: Submit the TJSP application at the bottom of this page. Qualified applicants who have provided all three (3) application documents and completed the CFNC Application by May 17, 2024, will be selected. The first 60 completed applications will be accepted.

STEP 2: To become a student at FTCC, you must complete the CFNC Admissions Application to FTCC at this link –

. Note: You must select the Summer 2024 Application.

STEP 3: Submit a current copy of the applicant’s high school transcript (can be requested through CFNC during enrollment application). Transcript should list grades through fall 2023 and current GPA.

STEP 4: Submit a letter on school letterhead from the applicant’s high school counselor stating the student is on track to meet all high school graduation requirements and is scheduled to graduate in spring 2024.

Application materials can be attached to the application form or submitted to: admissions@faytechcc.edu.

What are the program deadlines?

The application opens March 15, 2024.

The priority deadline for submitting all three documents listed above is May 17, 2024.

Selected applicants will be notified via email and asked to confirm their commitment to the program by signing an electronic statement of intent to enroll by June 3, 2024.

If necessary, these deadlines may be extended by the TJSP Committee for the selection of qualified candidates.
