Fayetteville Technical Community College celebrated the opening of its new softball field and fieldhouse on Saturday, March 4, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and ceremonial first pitched followed by a doubleheader against Cleveland Community College. The event was widely attended by FTCC supporters and community stakeholders.
Current FTCC President Dr. Mark Sorrells and former President Dr. J. Larry Keen combined to completed the ceremonial first pitch, with Keen dealing and Sorrells catching behind the plate.
The softball facility, which is located next to Trojan Field at J.P. Riddle Stadium, includes seating and a fieldhouse for team locker rooms.
