Volleyball hosted Patrick & Henry CC on Tuesday night before hitting the road Thursday and Saturday for three more conference matches. They have improved to 20-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play, tying the overall program wins record.
FTCC vs. Patrick & Henry CC: 3-0, Win
The Trojans did not allow the Patriots to surpass 11 points in a set, winning the first three.
Bre Harrison (Greenwood, SC) lead the Trojan offense with eight kills, she also had three assisted blocks. Madison Carter (Benson, NC) set up 13 of the Trojans 35 kills and had eight digs.
Ella Ferrie (Stanchfield, MN) had eight service aces and Trinity Blue (Fayetteville, NC) and Kyrie Willis (Cypress, TX) each had two blocks.
FTCC vs. Lenoir CC: 3-0, Win
The Trojans were back on the road after their home stretch heading to Kinston, NC to face Lenoir CC. The Lancers put up a hard fight in the first and third set, but only scored six points in set two.
This win gave Coach Moe Licardo his 100th win of his career at FTCC, improving the Trojans to 18-3 overall on the season.
Ferrie lead the offense with 11 kills, also recording 13 digs. Willis had seven kills, five digs and two blocks.
Taylor Detrant (Keizer, OR) had 27 assists in the match, 16 digs, two blocks and five kills. Addie Hudson (Wade, NC) finished with 11 digs and Carter had 10 digs.
Kayloni Eddings (Pembroke, NC) was big at the net with four blocks.
FTCC vs. Wake Tech: 3-1, Win
The Trojans traveled to Winston-Salem for two conference games on Saturday. The first game they faced the Eagles of Wake Tech.
The Eagles took set one 26-24 before the Trojans responded and held them to 10, 17 and 20 points in the next three sets.
Willis finished with 19 kills, seven digs and three blocks. Harrison had 10 kills and four blocks.
Samantha Harless (St. George, UT) had a big eight blocks with seven kills. Detrant set up 35 kills while playing defense with 19 digs and two service aces.
Ferrie served up three more aces and finished with four kills and 11 digs. Eddings picked up six more big blocks.
FTCC vs. Forsyth Tech: 3-0, Win
The Trojans did not let up in game two, defeating the Trailblazers in three sets.
Ferrie lead the offense with 10 kills and also had 11 digs. Willis and Harrison finished with seven kills each. Detrant added 34 assists with three blocks.
Gracie Moore (Hendersonville, NC) picked up eight digs with three service aces.
Volleyball is back at home this week hosting Cape Fear on Tuesday and USC-Sumter on Thursday for their Dig Pink Game. Both games are scheduled for a 6PM start and all home games are $10 admission, free with FTCC ID or children 12 & under.
