Fayetteville Technical Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Sharon Lewis, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Al Aycock, and Deontae Watson to the Foundation Board of Directors for three-year terms.
“I look forward to working with our new board members,” FTCC Foundation Executive Director Jennifer McFadyen Hammond said. “They each bring unique talents and experiences to the FTCC Foundation Board that will help advance the mission of the college and support student success.”
Lewis is the Principal and Director of Strategic Growth and People Leader at Booz Allen Hamilton. She received a Bachelor of Science from Fayetteville State University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from UNC Charlotte.
Aycock is a veteran, advocate, and volunteer within the military community. He served for more than 37 years with the U.S. Army. He is currently a Military Partnership Executive at Corvias.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his master’s degree from Fayetteville State University. He has a certificate in Non-profit Management from Duke University.
Deontae Watson joined the Fayetteville Regional Airport in 2021 as the Deputy Airport Director. He is responsible for managing airport operations, including maintenance, safety, public services, and administration.
He has an MBA with a concentration in Aviation and Finance from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Bachelor of Science from Tennessee State University in Aviation Management.
The Foundation Board appointed former board members John Elliott and Dan Dederick to serve as Emeritus Board Members.
The Foundation Board also recently elected new officers. Dixon Soffe of First Citizens Bank will serve as the board chair. Alex Keith of Tom Keith & Associates will serve as the vice chair. Donna Dawkins of Holmes Security Systems was elected treasurer, and Whitaker Grannis of Grannis Enterprises as the assistant treasurer. Jamie Terracciano of Page Grace Investments will serve as the secretary.
