FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech volleyball (1-2) suffered a straight-set loss to Pitt Community College in the Trojans’ home opener Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (3-1) took set one 25-19, riding out early momentum while the Trojans found their footing.

FTCC came roaring back to lead deep into the second set and again in the third, but late errors in both games gave way to Pitt taking both by scores of 25-22 to win the match at 3-0.

Sophomore outside hitter Anna Grey Barbour was a model of consistency for the Trojans, limiting her receiving errors to just one in 19 attempts. She added six kills and eight digs.

Sophomore middle Da’Nya McPhatter led up front with eight kills and three solo blocks. Setter Krislyn Bullard tallied 19 assists and 13 digs, and libero Paige Stalnaker recorded a match-high 16 digs.

The Trojans travel to Wake Tech on Sept. 5 and Guilford Tech on Sept. 12 before returning home Sept. 14 for a tri-match against Patrick Henry (1 p.m.) and Lenoir CC (5 p.m.)
