FAYTTEVILLE, NC – May 6, 2019 – Andrea Chavis, a student from Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC), has been selected as a recipient of a $5,000 scholarship by SR Education Group. The company is a leading education research publisher that awards quarterly scholarships, a program stemming from the organization’s mission to make college more affordable and attainable for every student.

Chavis is working to earn a nursing degree, with a specific objective to work as an OBGYN nurse practitioner. Knowing that such a goal requires study and hard work, Andrea has been doing everything she can to continue in higher education while finding balance in caring for her two children, studying, and working full time.

“I was extremely overwhelmed with gratitude when I received this amazing award,” Chavis wrote to the scholarship board. “Being a single working mom of two girls, it feels so amazing to not have to worry about how I will find funds to help cover my nursing school expenses. I can never thank you enough for your generosity.”

Sung Rhee founded the SR Education Group in 2004. The company, headquartered in Kirkland, WA, creates authoritative online resources for students seeking an education that best suits their budget and career aspirations and currently awards about $260,000 in needs-based scholarships to students each year.
