The Fayetteville Tech volleyball team’s 2019 roster boasts a mix of experience and fresh talent, as the Trojans add five newcomers to a five-player list of returning athletes.

The Trojans return two stat leaders from the 2018 campaign. Six-footer Da’Nya McPhatter, who led the team in kills (166) and blocks (33) last season, returns at middle blocker, while setter Krislyn Bullard returns after notching 255 assists a year ago.

Right side player Jill Recod and outside hitter Anna Grey Barbour return up front, and Paige Stalnaker, who recorded 199 digs as a freshman, is back to work at libero and defensive specialist.

The Trojans signed five additions during the offseason. Six-foot-one McKenzie Smith, a sophomore out of Lehi, Utah, adds size up front at middle blocker. Kristen Woods of Lincoln, Ala., brings versatility with the ability to switch between outside hitter and defensive specialist.

Joining Woods in the 2019 freshman signing class are Cape Fear graduate Alexis Spexarth at outside hitter, Jack Britt alumna AnnMarie Miller at defensive specialist and Alissa Staton at right side.
