Fayetteville Technical Community College’s mentoring program, the YES Initiative, received a generous donation from longtime supporting non-profit the Fayetteville, NC Chapter of The Links, Inc.

The gift for $1,500 was presented Saturday during a Links event hosted on FTCC’s Fayetteville campus.

The YES Initiative promotes personal development and academic success among students by way of mentoring through exposure to educational, social, and career-focused activities and opportunities.

FTCC Senior Director of Support Services Richard McDonald, who oversees the YES Initiative, said the program is “deeply grateful” for The Links’ continued partnership and generous donation.

“This meaningful investment directly supports our students by funding essential supplies and underwriting high-impact programming that strengthens academic achievement, career readiness, and postsecondary transfer success,” McDonald said.

For several years, the local chapter of The Links has been a steadfast supporter of the YES Initiative, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to student empowerment and educational equity.

Through the non-profit’s consistent engagement and financial contributions, YES students have benefitted from expanded academic support services, leadership development opportunities, and exposure to transformative learning experiences.
