Department of History, Humanities, Philosophy, & Religion at FTCC
The Department of History, Humanities, Philosophy, & Religion at FTCC fosters critical inquiry into human experience, culture, and thought. Our department is organized into four areas of study:
-
- History – Examine local, national, and world events through courses in ancient, modern, and regional histories.
- Humanities – Explore art, literature, music, and cultural traditions that shape human societies.
- Philosophy – Engage with fundamental questions of ethics, logic, and knowledge in both Western and non-Western traditions.
- Religion – Study the diversity of religious beliefs, practices, and their impact on individuals and communities.
Our courses support university transfer and careers in education, public service, writing, and cultural institutions. Through discussions, research projects, and mentorship from experienced faculty, we prepare students to think deeply and communicate effectively about the human condition.
