SGA Purpose

  • Provide means whereby members of the student body may effectively express themselves on concerns of the College which directly affect their social, economic, physical, and intellectual well-being.
  • Aid and assist the College staff, faculty and administration in fulfilling the aims, purpose and philosophical documents establishing and ordering of Fayetteville Technical Community College.
  • Provide a democratic process for the resolution of student-involved conflicts within the academic community.
  • Advance mutual respect between College faculty, staff and students and encourage their school spirit, school loyalty and a sense of responsibility in all school affairs.

Join us for a general council meeting and let your voice be heard! Meetings are held twice a month during the Fall and Spring semesters. The SGA General Council includes the General and Executive Councils. All students are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!

Advertising Design Club – This club exists to give students experience working within a team to organize and participate in campus activities and club fundraisers. It also allows student participation in competitive activities where learned graphic design skills can be utilized. Architectural Technology Club – Seeks to promote and develop better education studies, interest, and understanding of the field of Architectural Drafting, Design, and related Technologies. Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) – CompTIA AITP serves as the go-to resource for individuals seeking to start, grow and advance a career in technology. We see the technology industry as the primary contributor to economic growth and seek to fill the pipeline with next gen-workers, attracting and supporting  a large, diverse and skilled talent pool. We are affiliated with the Research Triangle Park AITP chapter and attend their monthly meetings for workshops/discussions and networking. We are open to all with an interest in the IT field. Fine Arts Club – The purpose of the Fine Arts Club of Fayetteville Technical Community College is to promote interest in the various forms of art, expand student knowledge through enrichment experiences, and planned activities, encouragement of the arts among FTCC students, faculty, staff, and the community at large, provide exposure in the visual and performing arts among students and the FTCC community and expand learning activities among its members by club activities. Game Developers Club – We are here for those interested in all aspects of game development, whether from the artistic or the technical side. Our purpose is to further your knowledge and opportunities for networking. When possible, we work on creating a game. We are open to all with an interest in game development.
Health and Fitness Science – The purpose of the Health and Fitness Science Club of FTCC is to provide opportunities for students to engaged in activities (both on and off campus) that support, develop and sustain healthy and fit lifestyles. The Health and Fitness Science Club of FTCC student members attend conferences related to Exercise Science and Sport Performance, organize relevant activities pertaining to health, fitness, sport and exercise, compete in local road races or competitions, and engage in recreational activities aimed at improving health and well-being. National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) – The NSLS is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. Physical Therapy Assistant Club – The Physical Therapy Assistant Club builds unity among current PTA students to assist with the team-oriented approach necessary to succeed in the field. Radiography Club – The Radiography Club promotes awareness and appreciation of the radiography field and enhances the educational experience of students in the curriculum. Science Club – Activities in the Science Club are designed to enhance educational experience, promote awareness and interest in learning science for all FTCC students. Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society – Sigma Kappa Delta is the National English Honor Society for two-year colleges. FTCC’s chapter, Rho Beta, was established in 2001. The primary goal of Sigma Kappa Delta is to promote the love of the English language and its literature, and to serve society by promoting literacy. Rho Beta’s mission is to provide cultural stimulation on the college campus, promote interest in literature and the English language, and support literacy in our surrounding communities. Rho Beta confers distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate studies, and promotes exemplary character and good fellowship among its members. SkillsUSA – SkillsUSA is a national organization of secondary and postsecondary students preparing for careers in technical, skilled, and service occupations. SkillsUSA members compete against other community colleges in occupational skill events. Students also learn valuable skills in leadership development, community service, and service learning. Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) – The purpose of SAME (Society of American Engineers) is to promote the mission and values of SAME through the networking of college students and industry professionals. Speech Language Pathology Club – The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Association (SLPAA) is designed for current speech-language pathology students.
