Gloriesrenea Stackhouse

Gloriesrenea Stackhouse, a 64-year-old Lumberton native, graduated from FTCC on May 12, 2023, with an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. After finishing her career as a paramedic, Stackhouse returned to school to support her daughter’s venture to open a daycare.

I did a 360 from one career to another. I’m a retired paramedic. I worked 11 years as a paramedic in Robeson County. My daughter said she was going to open a daycare, and being supportive, I decided to take EDU 119. It was easy, and it was very interesting. I was able to maintain my 4.0, so I kept going. EDU 119 is just a certification course, and after that I jumped right into the curriculum. I talked to God about it first, because he’s always given me a charge to help the children.

I have three adult children, four granddaughters, two grandsons and my daughter-in-love — that’s my son’s wife. She decorated my cap, which says, “It’s never too late to write your own story.”
