FAYETTEVILLE, NC – September 7, 2018 – Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) announced today that the College, together with the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), has scheduled a drone workshop for commercial and government operators for Wednesday, October 17, at the Tony Rand Student Center Multi-Purpose Room at the Fayetteville campus, 2201 Hull Road. The workshop begins at 9 a.m. with commercial and government drone operations and data management presentations, networking opportunities, and live flight demonstrations with leaders across the industry.

The event is open to the public, but seating is limited for the drone workshop; interested individuals should register early. Registration will close on October 15 at 9 p.m. For additional information about the event and other upcoming events, please visit NCDOT UAS Events Resource Page.

NCDOT’s Division of Aviation Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program office will present the workshop, focused on commercial and government drone operations and data management. State and local government personnel who are interested in learning about this technology are encouraged to attend. Local commercial drone operators are also invited to attend and network.

“Drone technology is quickly advancing, and so are the possibilities for a business or government organization interested in using one,” said Basil Yap, UAS Program Manager for NCDOT. “The people in attendance can expect to come away with an understanding on possible real-world applications for drone technology and what it takes to safely and effectively implement drones into their operations.”

Increase your company or agency’s exposure by exhibiting at this unique workshop. Connect with local UAS and technology service providers and public agencies who direct, influence, and recommend purchases for their organizations. No other event in the NC brings the entire drone community together. Interested exhibitors should email uas@ncdot.gov
