It was a beautiful day on Saturday, March 16 for Military Appreciation Day out at JP Riddle Complex.

The day was full of recognition of active-duty and retired military personnel that were in attendance or are a part of the FTCC community.

Scot McCosh, Senior Director of Military & Veterans Program, and Steve Driggers, Athletic Director for Facility Operations & Maintenance, Recruiting & Special Events, organized the appearance of Fort Liberty members to lead opening ceremonies and perform the National Anthem and throw out the first pitch.

Staff Sergeant Kiari Mhoon performed a breathtaking National Anthem and Fort Liberty Garrison Command Sergeant Major Gregory Seymour threw out a strike for the first pitch.

There was a cookout provided for all military personnel and their families put on by FTCC’s Veterans Services department with great conversation and community involvement.

CSM Gregory Seymour gave a pregame speech to the baseball team in the locker room to emphasize the importance of grind and pride. He told them to protect their house and the Trojan’s did just that winning two out of three games to take the series from Pitt Community College.
