The Math & Science Division at Fayetteville Technical Community College will host the N.C. Science Olympiad’s Fayetteville tournament on Saturday, February 10.

Nearly three dozen teams of students from middle and high schools in the Cape Fear region are expected to compete in the tournament. This is one of several regional N.C. Science Olympiad tournaments held around the state in February and March, followed by a state tournament in April.

The N.C. Science Olympiad aims to attract and interest students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degrees and careers.

Check-in for student teams and volunteers participating in the event begins at 8 a.m. in the Tony Rand Student Center. An award ceremony is planned for 1:30 p.m. in the Horace Sisk Gymnasium.
