Shortstop Bladen Strickland has accepted a transfer to Keystone College, becoming the first Fayetteville Tech baseball player to transfer to a four-year program.

The Keystone Giants are coming off a 25-16 year in which they claimed their fourth straight Colonial States Athletic Conference title.

They’ve reached the NCAA Division III tournament every year since 2008.

“They win,” said Strickland, a Pembroke native. “They’re a very good program. They’ve had 48 players go on to play professionally in the last 10 years. They get kids to the next level, and that’s what I’m trying to do.”
