What: On Course Introductory Workshop

Presenter: Dr. Jonathan Brennan – Chair, On Course National Conference; Faculty Mission CollegeCetl

The 1-day workshop is an introduction to engaging and empowering learner-centered principles, research and strategies that improve student learning, retention and graduation rates. The workshop provides a foundation in evidence-based cognitive neuroscience best practices that educators across disciplines can implement. Attendees acquire practical and proven approaches to engage students more fully, and to support students in acquiring the critical soft skills critical to learner performance as well as career effectiveness.  Attendees are invited to develop a plan to deepen their own campus professional development and institutionalize student success practices more fully.

The workshop provides a foundation in learner-centered education as well as practical and proven educational strategies that participants can use immediately with their students. At the end of the workshop, participants develop a specific plan to implement one or more strategies learned in the workshop. To extend their learning beyond the workshop, participants receive access to a web source of hundreds of innovative ways the workshop strategies have been employed by other educators across the curriculum (from Advising to Zoology).

The cost of the workshop is at a low $95. (This workshop is normally offered for $295!)
