Women’s Basketball played two more conference games this past week. They hosted the Yeti’s of Cleveland CC and then headed to Wilmington, NC to play Cape Fear CC. The Trojans took both games to improve to 16-6 overall and 12-5 in conference play.
The previous conference win record was 11 wins, the Trojans tied and then broke the record this past week with their two conference wins.
FTCC vs. Cleveland: 67-57, Win
The Trojans were ahead at half-time and even though the Yeti’s came back on the court ready to win the third quarter, the Trojans continued to push to tie the conference win record.
Amire Banks (Mt. Vernon, GA) lead the Trojans with 15 points, she also had four rebounds and three assists. Nahmiah Aekins (Hope Mills, NC) had 14 points with six rebounds, two steals and two assists.
Gabby Locklear (Lumberton, NC) scored 10 points and Tateyawna Faison (Mount Olive, NC) put up nine points with six rebounds and three steals. Denaira Williams (Fayetteville, NC) had eight points with four assists and two blocks.
Elyssa Phillips (Raleigh, NC) lead the defense with nine rebounds, she also scored seven points.
The Trojans shot 81% from the line, with Banks going 4-4 and Faison making her one foul shot.
FTCC vs. Cape Fear: 69-66, Win
The Sea Devils were ahead by nine at halftime, but were not able to hold their lead when the Trojans put up two 20 point quarters in the third and fourth.
Banks had a big 23 points for the Trojans. Williams had a double double game with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Aekins put up 11 points with four rebounds and three steals.
Faison added seven rebounds with four points and Keara Duncan (Fayetteville, NC) had four rebounds with four points.
The Trojans shot 84% from the line, only missing two free throws.
The Trojans are back at home tomorrow when they host Guilford Tech for their Play4Kay game at 5:00PM. Then they will host Wake Tech on Friday night for Sophomore Night, celebrating three sophomores before the game. All home games are $10 admission (free with FTCC ID or children 12 & under) and played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street.
