The Trojans hosted Davidson-Davie last week and traveled to Methodist University and Forsyth Tech. They lost their two conference games to the Storm and the Trailblazers but came out on top over the Methodist JV team.
The Trojans are 8-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play going into the last two weeks of January where they have some big games left.
FTCC vs. Davidson-Davie: 78-86, Loss
The Trojans lead by four points at halftime, but the Storm came back on the court making a 51 point run to take the lead and secure the game.
Cameron Burns (Charlotte, NC) was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 17 points, four assists and two rebounds. Armaan Benitez (Philadelphia, PA) scored 15 points with two rebounds and one assist.
Trevion Lewis (Atlanta, GA) lead the Trojan defense with 11 rebounds, he also had a double double game with 13 points. Ray Mitchell (Jacksonville, NC) had a double double game with 10 rebounds and 12 points.
Ja’Merl Brockington (Lumberton, NC) had seven points and three assists from off the bench and Brayden Ivey (Durham, NC) added six points.
FTCC vs. Methodist-JV: 91-73, Win
The Trojans headed over to Methodist University to play their JV squad last Thursday night for a late 8PM nonconference game. The Trojans dominated in both quarters finishing the game ahead by 18 points.
Jaidyne Dunn (Pikeville, NC) was the leading scorer with 25 points, five rebounds and three steals. Lewis had 16 points with eight rebounds and two steals. Xavier Whitaker (Rocky Mount, NC) had 12 points with five assists.
Zy McLean (Fayetteville, NC) came off the bench for 10 points and five rebounds.
FTCC vs. Forsyth Tech: 103-106, Loss
The Trojans headed up to Winston-Salem on Saturday to play the #1 team in Region 10 currently, Forsyth Tech. The Trojans trailed and came back to tie the game up at 93 points to push it into overtime. The Trailblazers were able to score three more points in those five extra minutes to earn the conference win.
Whitaker scored a big 27 points for the Trojans with five rebounds and two assists. Mitchell had another double double game with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Dunn added another 20 points for the Trojans with five assists, four rebounds and two blocks.
Burns had nine assists with 14 points and Lewis had a double double game off the bench with 12 rebounds and 11 points.
Men’s Basketball will host Cleveland CC on Saturday for a 3PM tip-off. All home games are $10 admission and played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street.
