The Trojans hosted both Forsyth Tech and Bryant & Stratton this past week for conference games and came out on top in both. They have improved to 4-3 overall and 4-1 in Region 10 DII conference play.

FTCC vs. Forsyth Tech: 96-88, Win

The Trojans were up by eight on the undefeated Trail Blazers at halftime and continued to push to hold their lead and handed Forsyth Tech their first loss of the season.

Xavier Whitaker (Rocky Mount, NC) had a season-high 30 points for the Trojans. Ray Mitchell (Jacksonville, NC) scored 14 points with six blocks and nine rebounds. Trevion Lewis (Atlanta, GA) had 13 points with nine rebounds. 

Armaan Benitez (Philadelphia, PA) scored 11 points and Cameron Burns (Charlotte, NC) had a double double game with 10 points and 10 assists.

Logan Ware (Cary, NC) added seven rebounds. 

The Trojans shot 74.2% from the line with Brayden Ivey (Durham, NC) and Josh Alford (Raleigh, NC) each going 2-2.

FTCC vs. Bryant & Stratton: 87-76, Win

The Trojans lead in both halves against the Bobcats to finish on top by 11 points and earn their fourth conference win.

Whitaker was again the leading scorer for the Trojans with 15 points and five rebounds. Mitchell had 13 points and eight rebounds. 

Lewis was big on defense earning 16 rebounds, he also had five assists and nine points. Burns scored 11 with seven assists and four rebounds. 

Jaden Lyles (Charlotte, NC) had 11 points coming off the bench going 3-3 from the free throw line.

The Trojans again shot 75% from the line, only missing four foul shots.

Men’s Basketball is on the road on Wednesday when they head to Virginia for a nonconference game against Patrick & Henry at 7PM. They will return home on Saturday for their next conference game against Pitt CC with a 5PM tip-off following the Women’s game. All home games are $10 admission, free with FTCC ID or children 12 and under, and played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street.
