Men’s Basketball hosted Louisburg for a conference game and came out on top for the win before traveling to Bryant & Stratton to earn another conference win. Then they returned home to host Catawba Valley and fell short before the final buzzer. 

The Trojans are now 10-9 overall and 8-6 in conference play going into the remaining three weeks of regular season games. 

FTCC vs. Louisburg: 97-82, Win

The Trojans were up by 21 points going into halftime. The Hurricanes came back on the court ready to play in the second half, outscoring the Trojans by six points but not enough to surpass the lead the Trojans set in the first half. 

Ray Mitchell (Jacksonville, NC) and Xavier Whitaker (Rocky Mount, NC) each had 20 points for the Trojans. Mitchell made his a double double game with 13 rebounds. Kaleb James (Stedman, NC) scored 12 points with two rebounds and two steals. 

Trevion Lewis (Atlanta, GA), Cameron Burns (Charlotte, NC), and Jaidyne Dunn (Pikeville, NC) each had 10 points. 

The Trojans shot 80% from the free throw line with Lewis and Whitaker shooting a perfect 6-6.

FTCC vs. Bryant & Stratton: 70-63, Win

The Trojans made the trip up to Virginia Beach to play a conference game against the Bobcats. Scoring 35 points in both halves game the Trojans their 70 points to defeat the Bobcats by seven. 

Whitaker lead the Trojans with 18 points. Burns added 17 points with seven assists and Mitchell had another double double game with 15 points and 13 rebounds. 

Dunn had eight points with four assists and Logan Ware (Cary, NC) had seven rebounds.

FTCC vs. Catawba Valley: 86-99, Loss

The Trojans were down by 10 at halftime and the Red Hawks continued to push throughout the whole game to defeat the Trojans by 13. 

Whitaker had a big 26 points for the Trojans with four rebounds. James came off the bench for 17 points and seven rebounds. 

Burns and Mitchell each scored 10 points. Lewis had 13 rebounds. 

Armaan Benitez (Philadelphia, PA), James and Dunn shot perfect from the free throw line.

Men’s Basketball travels to Guilford Tech on Wednesday for a 7PM tip-off then they will head to Pitt on Saturday for another conference game at 3PM. They will return home on Sunday to host Southwest Virginia at 1PM. 

All home games are $10 admission (free with FTCC ID and children 12 & under) and played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street.
