Men’s Basketball hosted Guilford Tech and Central Carolina for two conference games to close out November. The Trojans beat the Titans 96-70 and fell to the Cougars 73-79 for their first conference loss. 

FTCC vs. Guilford Tech: 96-70, Win

The Trojans lead from the start, going into the half up by 24 points. They continued to push in the second half to win by 26. 

Kaleb James (Stedman, NC) was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 15 points. Xavier Whitaker (Rocky Mount, NC) came off the bench to score 14 points with five assists. 

Logan Ware (Cary, NC) lead the defense with seven rebounds along with Trevion Lewis (Atlanta, GA) and Jaylen Sturdivant (Raeford, NC) who each had six rebounds. Ray Mitchell (Jacksonville, NC) had 12 points with five rebounds and two blocks. Cam Burns (Charlotte, NC) had 10 points with seven assists. 

Ja’Merl Brockington (Lumberton, NC) and Brayden Ivey (Durham, NC) each added 11 points.

FTCC vs. Central Carolina: 73-79, Loss

The Cougars continued their small lead going into the half and continued to battle back and forth with the Trojans to secure the win and hand the Trojans their first conference loss. 

Whitaker lead the Trojan offense scoring 14 points. James had 12 points with six rebounds and Burns added nine points with four assists. 

Ivey and Lewis each had eight points from the bench and Lewis had seven rebounds. 

The Trojans shot 72.7% from the free throw line.

The Trojans are back at home on Wednesday when they host Forsyth Tech for a 7PM conference game. They also will host Bryant & Stratton College on Sunday at 4PM. All home games are $10 admission (free with FTCC ID or children 12 & under) and are played at Reid Ross Classical School: 3200 Ramsey Street.
