POWERING THE FUTURE OF GREEN-ECONOMY CAREERS
Through a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, Fayetteville Technical Community College is now partnering with Fayetteville State University to offer training at no charge to individuals in the construction and renovation industry who would like to help companies and schools and churches reduce their energy bills.
On average it is estimated that modest energy management improvements can save commercial buildings in the U.S. 20%-50% off their energy bill. For a typical commercial building under 50,000 square feet in size that could amount to savings between $5,000 – $25,000 per year.
Construction and renovation firms need individuals who can help building owners identify and implement energy savings strategies. If you would like to learn new skills in building energy management, and would like to get a professional certification—all free of charge–this program is for you. All it takes is a willingness to learn and an investment of time—about 2-3 months of classes for each course offered. You can choose to take just one course (such as energy management for HVAC) for you can take up to 4 courses (HVAC, Carpentry, Electrical, Solar). The choice is yours. The opportunity is yours.
