LOUISBURG, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech volleyball got back in the win column Monday with a straight-set victory at Louisburg.

The win, taken by set scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-14, snapped a two-game skid for the Trojans, who improved to 9-2 overall and 5-2 in Region 10 DII East Division.

The Trojans remain in third place in the East standings.

FTCC put on a strong showing from the service line, where the team combined for eight aces. Freshmen Morgan Brady and Aliyah Brown led the way, tallying three and two aces, respectively.

Sophomore right side Lauren Adams recorded eight kills, 12 digs and three block assists. Outside hitter Alyssa Wrench also had eight kills while notching 10 digs. Taylor Melvin, in at libero for the Trojans, had 12 digs.

Sophomore setter Jacqueline Woosley had 26 assists. She remains in the top five in Region 10 Division II in assists per set, averaging 8.89.

The Trojans’ road trip continues Wednesday when they travel to Pinehurst, N.C., to face DIII leader Sandhills CC. FTCC returns home Thursday to host DI USC Sumter at 6 p.m. in Horace Sisk Gym.
