FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — FTCC volleyball ended a two-game skid and improved to 5-4 on the season with a straight-set win over visiting Central Carolina on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The Trojans took the match by sets of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-13, jumping out to early leads in each game and never relinquishing the lead.

Fayetteville Tech was particularly deadly at the service line. The Trojans’ rotation combined for 10 aces, their highest match total since the team’s Sept. 12 win at Guilford Tech.

Anna Grey Barbour led the Trojans with five aces, and the sophomore remains in the top 10 in Region 10 in aces per set, averaging 0.70.

Sophomore middle McKenzie Smith made an impact at net, leading the Trojans with nine kills and recording all three of the team’s solo blocks.

Barbour and libero AnnMarie Miller each notched seven digs, and sophomore setter Krislyn Bullard had 21 assists.

The Trojans host Surry CC (1 p.m.) and Rockingham CC (5 p.m.) Saturday, Sept. 28, in a tri-match.
