FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech volleyball capped a 3-0 week with a straight-set win over visiting Lenoir CC on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The match was the second of the day for both teams, and both had earned wins over Patrick Henry in the first two matches of the tri-match.

The Trojans (4-2) took the first two sets comfortably at 25-16 and 25-19 but slipped behind early in the third set.

FTCC trailed by as many as five points but rallied to overtake the Lancers and march to a 28-26 finish in the final set.

Sophomore middle McKenzie Smith helped the Trojans fend off a late momentum grab by the Lancers. The sophomore recorded a team-high 12 kills and served up three aces.

Anna Grey Barbour led the team with 18 digs and notched a pair of aces.

Krislyn Bullard paced the offense with 31 assists and contributed 15 digs.

The Trojans go on the road for their next two matches, Sept. 17 at Wake Tech and Sept. 21 at Catawba Valley CC. They’ll return home Sept. 26 for a contest against Central Carolina CC.
