FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Tech volleyball powered past Surry CC on Tuesday in straight sets to advance to the Region 10 Division II semifinals.

The Trojans (8-2), the No. 3 seed, will face No. 2 Cape Fear CC on March 26 at 2 p.m. The match will be played at top seed Catawba Valley CC, which will host the remaining rounds of the tournament.

The Trojans rode a strong defensive showing to victory in Tuesday’s quarterfinal, battling to set wins of 25-17, 26-24 and 25-20.

Sophomores Kristen Woods and Lauren Adams led the defense, tallying 13 and 12 digs, respectively. Alyssa Wrench scored 10 kills, and freshmen setter Jacqueline Woosley notched 31 assists.

This is the Trojans’ deepest playoff run since the volleyball program’s start in 2018. FTCC’s postseason showing ended in the quarterfinal round in 2019, the last time the Trojans were on the court.

The winner will face the winner of the day’s first semifinal — between the Red Hawks and No. 4 Sandhills CC — in the tournament final, which will begin approximately one hour after the semifinals’ end.
