The FTCC Trojans downed the Guilford Tech Titans, 108-93, at home Wednesday night. The game reversed the outcome of the Women the night before. The Trojans move to 4-2 and 1-1 in conference play. The Trojans jumped out early and kept the pressure on throughout the game. The Titans closed to as close as 4 pts., but the depth and shooting of the Trojans brought home the win.

Jabari Bowman and Jonathan Adams led the Trojans in scoring in the first half with 12 and 9 pts., respectively. Adams opened the early lead with 9 consecutive pts. bracketed by 6 pts. from Bowman. Nick Kuhns hit a 3 as the Trojans opened a 50-36 halftime lead. The defensive pressure held the Titans without a player with more than 6 pts. in the half.

By the midpoint of the second half, the Titans had gained around and pulled to 4 pts., 62-66. The Trojans were held to just 9 pts. in 6 minutes of play as the Titans closed the game. T.J. Watkins, who had 10 of his 13 pts. in the half, was part of closing the gap. Tamario Rodgers was held to 3 pts. in the first half and exploded for 17 of his team high 20 pts. to try to keep the game close. With just under 10 minutes to play, Bowman and Zach Boggs went on a tear and had 26 combined points, including three 3 pt. shots to put the game out of reach. The final minutes dragged as fouls put the Trojans on the line where they were 25-36 for the game. Bowman had a Trojan season high 32 pts. This was a good win, and the tree guards really put on a show; scoring and distributing effectively to lead the team to its first conference win.
