FAYETTEVILLE, NC – April 11, 2016 – Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) announced today the nomination of two FTCC students to the All-USA Community College Academic Team program sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group and presented by USA TODAY, with additional support provided by the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa.

April Miller and Christopher Miller have been nominated by FTCC for the 2016 All-USA Community College Academic Team that recognizes high-achieving two-year college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society.  Their selection represented outstanding academic rigor and grade point averages; participation in honors programs; awards, honors, and recognition for academic achievement; and service to the college and community.

Twenty team members are named annually with each receiving a $5,000 scholarship, a total of $100,000 in scholarship awards. In addition to scholarships, team members are featured in the USA TODAY newspaper and presented at the annual President’s Breakfast held during the American Association of Community Colleges Annual Convention.  Nominees to the All-USA Community College Academic Team may also be considered for the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team, New Century Scholars and All-State Community College Academic Teams when applicable.
