Trojan Men’s Golf Competes in 30 team Intercollegiate at Camp LeJeune
The Trojan Golf team faced a 30 team field at Camp LeJeune for the three day Marine Federal Intercollegiate, March 31 – April 2. The field included teams from colleges and universities, as well as, a few community colleges. The Trojans continued their run of improved play during the three days.
The men played the higher rated Gold Course on Friday in the rain and heavy winds to post a 326, just higher than the totals posted in the last two matches. FTCC scores posted were Austin Sandford, 78, Trey Strickland, 79, Tyler Fox, 82, and Zach Johnson, 87. Strickland continued to improve his game by posting his best round of the Spring in the worst weather.
The Trojans returned to their streak of going lower in each match by posting a season best 310 in the second day. The weather was much improved and the Scarlet course offering a slightly reduced challenge. Sanford, 74, Fox, 76, Johnson, and Strickland 80. Andrew Harmon posted an 81 which was not included in the top four scores for the day. Fox and Harmon had season best rounds on the day.
The final day, the Trojans played the Scarlet Course once again with the course set for the closing round at its championship best. Fox, 73, Sandford, 80, Harmon, 81, and Strickland, 83 for a team 317. Fox lowered his season best and has continued to improve with each match.

Complete tournament scores and placing are not yet available. The team had to get home quickly to ready themselves for the Cougar Classic played at Anderson Creek, April 3-4, hosted by Central Carolina Community College.
