The Lady Trojans welcomed the Bryant-Stratton College Bobcats. This was a good test for the Trojans as they split the games last year with the Bobcats. Unlike their last game, the women were solid from the line in the first half.
The tempo for the game was set by the Bobcats. They pressed hard with a 1-2-2 trap that worked hard on the Trojans throughout the game. FTCC was able to get the ball into the front court, but the pressure on the guards made shots tough and the inside game was hampered. They were able to draw fouls and get to the line where they were 20-25 in the half. They had three 3 shot free throw opportunities; hitting 8-9. This is what kept them in the game, leading 32-30 at the break.
The Trojan pressure on the Bobcat centers made the guards shoot the ball which the did fairly poorly in the first half. The Bobcats stepped up the pressure on the ball, and turnovers plagued the Trojans as they could not handle the ball. Once the guards got going, the Bobcat centers were able to open up and score at will. The Trojans never got it going in the second half, falling, 57-77, to go 3-5 in the conference and 4-5 overall.
