FAYETTEVILLE, NC – November 9, 2016 – Fayetteville Technical Community College’s (FTCC) All American Veterans Center invites the public to participate in a Veterans Day observance program to honor, celebrate, and thank our military veterans. The Veterans Day Observance program is scheduled for Friday, November 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the student gazebo near the Tony Rand Student Center at the Fayetteville campus located at 2201 Hull Road. The observance is open to the public.

Army Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Earnest Boyd will be the guest speaker at the event. Boyd earned his commission from the United States Military Academy in 1989. He spent his formative years in the military in a Patriot Battalion in support of the XVIII Airborne Corp, retiring in 2011. Boyd continues to serve the Army in his current position as the Force Requirements Branch Chief, G-3/5/7-Plans for HQ FORSCOM.

In association with the Observance, a “field of honor” will be located next to the event area with American flags. The flags are being sold by the FTCC Student Veterans of America Club for a $3 donation. Flags can be purchased at the All American Veterans Center in the General Classroom Building on the Fayetteville campus.

Fayetteville Technical Community College was established in 1961 and serves over 40,000 students annually by providing over 200 occupational, technical, general education, college transfer, and continuing education programs to meet students’ needs and desires as well as the community.
