Students must first create an account on their portal and gain approval from their service branch.
Military members should follow the prompts detailed on their appropriate TA service portals to sign up for Tuition Assistance.
Note: Reserves should select the appropriate branch portal.
Apply for Admissions
Once students complete the admissions process, please visit the FTCC Fort Bragg office or contact military@faytechcc.edu to complete the process and ensure TA is properly requested.
Army TA requests must be completed at least 5 business days prior to the start of the term date. All other branches must complete TA requests 10 business days prior to term start date.

Which Documents Are Required?
Official Transcripts
To be fully admitted to FTCC, all students must submit their high school transcripts and/or post secondary transcript indicating a conferred post-secondary degree. To receive potential transfer credit, students should submit the following official transcripts:
- Joint Service Transcript (JST);
- Transcripts from any previous institutions attended;
- Any official score reports for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Advanced Placement (AP), Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST).
If you have submitted official high school or college transcripts to FTCC within in the past 7 years, you may not have to resubmit the documents. Call Admissions at 910-678-8473 to ask about your status.
Army Personnel
Officers and warrant officers with no prior military service or other service members taking Army courses should request DD Form 295 from the Army Education Center.
The Army Service School Academic Report (DA Form 1059) documents training courses for officers and warrant officers. This document is acceptable if mailed from the Army Service School or certified by Army education personnel.
Department of Defense (DoD) Schools
Many DoD schools, such as Defense Language Institute, issue their own transcripts. If you attended any of these specialized schools, an official transcript must be requested in addition to your other military records.

Military transcripts to be submitted through the JST website. CCAF transcripts can be submitted to military@faytechcc.edu along with the student’s full name and last 4 digits of their SSN if a school issued student ID number is not available.
Plan and Register for Courses
FTCC will notify you by email and letter within 2-3 business days letting you know your seven-digit student ID number, default password, and additional instructions for logging into SelfService and Blackboard.
Use SelfService to register for your courses. Pay special attention to meeting times and dates of courses. If you would like to register for a flex course, please email registrar@faytechcc.edu.
While you are waiting for your password, take the time to review the degree requirements for your major.
Note: Tuition Assistance does not cover books or other course materials. If you need additional financial assistance, please visit our Financial Aid webpage in order to apply for FAFSA to see if you qualify for additional funds.
Things to Remember
- TA cannot be used for a previously taken course.
- If a service member already earned an associate degree, TA cannot be used for a course at the associate degree level unless it is job-related.
- Service members may take up to 16 semester hours (SH) per fiscal year with a tuition cap of $250/SH each year.
- Family members may not use TA, but may be eligible for other benefits.
