Session Description


Focuses on strategies for fostering an equitable, positive classroom atmosphere. Participants will explore setting effective classroom expectations, addressing implicit biases, and implementing consistent practices to enhance inclusivity. The session also covers conflict resolution techniques and collaboration tools within a Professional Learning Community (PLC). Through interactive activities, participants will reflect on and refine their classroom management approaches to support a constructive learning environment for all students. 

Carnivore Curious? Reduce Inflammation and Improve Energy with an Animal-Based Approach

Curious how an animal-based approach to eating can alleviate inflammation and lead to more energy? This session breaks down how the standard American diet is making us sick and what we can do about it.

Digital Badges & Microcredentials: Building Bridges Between Learning and Careers


Session Description


This session explores the evolving landscape of credentials, from traditional degrees to digital badges and microcredentials. Learn how these credentials enhance career pathways, recognize skills, and support lifelong learning. We’ll also share FTCC’s journey, key lessons learned, and engage in a discussion activity to spark ideas for implementation.

Elevation Excellence: Best Practices for Reviewing Scholarship Applications

Provide an overview of the important role Reviewers play in the scholarship application process. Walk through the review process providing step by step instructions. 
Discuss appropriate ways AI can be used in the scholarship application process and acceptance process.

Growth Mindset: Building relationships in online classes through weekly check-ins


Session Description


This presentation will emphasize the importance of building relationships in online learning through weekly check-ins. It will explore how check-ins can enhance student engagement, provide support, identify challenges, and improve retention and satisfaction. Participants will acquire strategies for designing effective check-ins and adapting teaching based on student feedback. Research on the positive impact of social presence on learning outcomes will be reviewed. The session will foster collaboration, encourage intentionality, and provide actionable insights for creating a more connected and supportive online environment

This professional development session introduces participants to the 7th Edition Quality Matters (QM) Rubric, emphasizing its eight General Standards to enhance online and blended course quality. Participants will learn to conduct self-reviews using the QM Rubric to pinpoint areas for improvement and ensure alignment among course objectives, assessments, and instructional materials. The session will also cover best practices for meeting QM standards, with a focus on accessibility, engagement, and effective instructional design. Attendees will leave equipped to apply these strategies to create high-quality, learner-centered courses.
