What: OER Integration at FTCC

In this session, we will explore how to design a learning experience from scratch using pre-existing OER materials. We will begin with course objectives, identify OER materials, and start the process of adding activities and resources to the Blackboard LMS module. We will address the basics of using the open NCCC microsite. We will explore registering for access to the site, the basics of searching the site, the databases included in the collections, and how to best integrate these resources into your online classroom.
At the end of this session, a participant will be able to:
- Recognize and describe what OERs are, and how they are useful as teaching resources
- Differentiate between the various Creative Commons licenses
- Develop an implementation plan for OER in your classroom
- Demonstrate the technical skills necessary to utilize open NCCC
- Create an account
- Search
- Save resources
- Add to the Blackboard LMS
